Public opinion on strike action against cuts

YouGov stats here:
45% of the public would oppose trade unions taking strike action against job cuts in the public sector, compared to the 35% who would support strike action, and a further 20% who are undecided.
Could obviously change when the cuts start to bite, but also suggests other tactics are needed.

I'd like to know how this has changed, if at all, over recent years, as the Tories are due to claim today that the public is 'increasingly' against strikes. Given that the media habitually report strikes by interviewing people inconvenienced by them and then go on to ask whose fault is it that the strike is happening, it's surprising that so many people do support strikes. Is there a trend or are the Tories just making it up?
