More polling

Some interesting stuff here and here. The real story may well be the fact that the Tories are regularly polling 40% plus. It's early days, obviously, but they have done well out of the coalition so far.

Four in 10 people who say they voted Lib Dem would not have done had they known the party would enter a coalition with the Tories

comical, since the only reason for a LibDem to get out of bed on election morning is to form a coalition with someone bigger

unless they are dyed-in-the-wool oppositionists ... which 40% of them probably are

in that light, it's kinda encouraging that 60% of them do actually want to get stuff done, really

I hate to defend to the Libs but I spose that is the one point in favour of Tory-enabling. What is their raison d'etre if they don't take power when they have the chance.

Still, I look forward to campaigning against them in the next local elections. A fair few soft-headed lefty types bought the line that the Libs are to the left of Labour. I have a strong suspicion those votes are coming our way next time.
