Marx on financialisation

"To the possessor of money capital, the process of production appears merely as an unavoidable intermediate link, as a necessary evil for the sake of money- making. All nations with a capitalist mode of production are therefore seized periodically by a feverish attempt to make money without the intervention of the process of production."

Nicked from John Plender.

  1. Of course.
It always amazes me so many people fail to understand Marx.

I always find him pretty clear. I fail to see how people don't read him and say 'Of course, that's got to be true. Common sense'.

But nevertheless, they do. The treadmill is well oiled.

  2. I love the way they always say "Marx was wrong about many things but..." I wonder what the "many things" are? It's not as if he ever made out he was Nostradamus...

  3. True to form-you need real substance, not money make money?
